NORFOLK, Va. – Offensive lineman
Justin Redd highlighted a cadre of all-star selections for Norfolk State as Phil Steele announced his FCS All-America and All-MEAC selections this week when he was named to the organization's FCS All-America fourth team.
In addition, quarterback
Juwan Carter (Offensive Player of the Year), Redd (Offensive Lineman) and running back
J.J. Davis (Rookie) earned top MEAC honors by the organization, Davis was picked a first-team freshman All-American and 24 Spartans earned places on Steele's All-MEAC teams. First-team selections included Redd, Carter, Davis, receiver
Justin Smith, tight end
Anthony Williams, offensive linemen
Jalen Powell,
D'Montre' Smith and
Colby Byrd, defensive linemen
De'Shaan Dixon and
Chris Myers, linebacker
Tyler Long, cornerback
Brandon Savage and long snapper
Zac Denton.
Cornerback
Justin Toler was a second-team pick as was Davis as an all-purpose performer. Third-team selections included receiver
Da'Quan Felton, linebacker
Marquis Hall and safety
R.J. Coles. Running back
Cameryn Brent, offensive lineman
Jeff Woods, defensive lineman
Remy Feltes, safety Stuart Anderson Jr, kicker
Josh Nardone and punter
Ryan Richter were named to the fourth team.
