NORFOLK, Va. – Norfolk State freshman
Sydney McCree added another award to her resume, this one coming on Halloween day. The freshman earned MEAC Rookie of the Week honors on Monday afternoon, her third time receiving the recognition this season.

The acknowledgment comes after an impressive double-double against Coppin State on Friday. McCree stuffed the stat sheet with 36 assists, 11 digs, three kills, two service aces, and a block, her fourth double-double of the season.

Against the Eagles, McCree also bypassed the 500-assist milestone for her freshman campaign. She's now racked up six matches with 30 or more assists, including one 48-assist performance against N.C. Central.
