BOSTON, Mass.  – Two Norfolk State runners got their 2022-23 indoor track campaigns going last weekend at the Sharon Colyear-Danville Invitational hosted by Boston University.

Regan Kimtai took seventh place in the men's mile, posting a time of 4:13.29. It was his fastest mile since he recorded a 4:09.72 at the 2020 Carolina Challenge, while competing for North Carolina A&T. Providence's Angus White took first place with a time of 4:07.75.

Gidion Sigei, fresh off an induvial title at the MEAC Cross Country Championships, made his track debut in a Spartan uniform on Saturday, breaking a school record that had been in place for over 15 years, finishing 112
th in the men's 5000m with a time of 14:17:52. David Kemboi held the previous indoor school record, finishing the event in 14:21.81 in 2006.Â
