BOSTON, Mass. – Kara Grant got the women's indoor track season started on Saturday with a strong showing at the Sharon-Colyear Danville Opener hosted by Boston University.
 
Grant took 21
st place in the women's mile, completing the race in 5:15.57. Alabama's Flomena Asekol won the event with a time of 4:32.84.
 
Grant was the only representative from the Norfolk State women's track and field team at Saturday's meet. The rest of the team will open the season at the VCU Indoor Invitational on Jan. 8 in Richmond, Va.
