NORFOLK, Va. – Norfolk State long distance runner
Regan Kimtai has earned MEAC Track Athlete of the Week for his performance at Saturday's season opener at Boston University, the conference announced Wednesday afternoon.

Kimtai finished in seventh place in his only event on Saturday, completing the mile in 4:13.29. It was his best mile time in a Spartan uniform, recording a 4:09.72 result in 2020 while at North Carolina A&T. The performance ranks him first in the MEAC for the event through one weekend of competition.

The recognition is the first MEAC weekly track accolade of Kimtai's career. Kimtai and the Spartans will return to the track on Jan. 8 at the VCU Indoor Invitational.
