NORFOLK, Va. – Norfolk State junior Alexis Robinson has been named the first MEAC Softball Pitcher of the Week for the season on Monday, the league announced.
Robinson had been named to the Preseason All-MEAC First Team earlier this spring.
The Spartan went 2-0 in 8.1 innings pitched and seven strikeouts during the NSU-Hampton Classic that was played at the NSU Softball Field.
In the 5-4 win over Hartford on Friday, she came in relief and pitched the final 2.1 innings. Robinson only allowed one hit while striking out two. In game three against the Hawks, she started in the circle and pitched four solid innings giving up four hits while striking out two. On Sunday against Hampton she pitched the final 2.0 innings, striking out three.
Robinson did not walk a single batter she faced and had a perfect 0.00 ERA during the tournament.
NSU (3-2) returns to action February 19-20 when they travel to Hampton for the HU Classic. They will play two games against St. Bonaventure and Central Connecticut State each.
