NORFOLK, Va. – Norfolk State University junior sprinter
Anthony Franklin was named the MEAC Men's Track Athlete of the Week, the conference announced on Wednesday.
Franklin posted a pair of personal-best times at last weekend's Norfolk State Invitational at Dick Price Stadium. Franklin won the 200 meters with a PR of 20.99 seconds, which is the second-fastest time in the MEAC this year. Franklin also placed third in the 100 meters with a PR of 10.29 seconds, third-fastest time in the conference this season.
This is Franklin's first weekly MEAC honor this season. He and his teammates return to action this Friday and Saturday at the Virginia Challenge.
