NSU to Host Several Basketball Camps This Summer

| By:

NORFOLK, Va. – The Norfolk State men's basketball coaches are hosting a series of camps this summer. There will be youth, team and elite camps aimed at helping develop players and teams of all ages.

The first camp this summer is the Team Camp which will take place June 10th-12th. It will feature a four-game minimum with certified officials and contests will be played with shot clocks.

From June 27th-30th, the Green and Gold Basketball camp (ages 7-14, boys & girls) is designed to develop and teach basketball skills. The camp will emphasize fun, fundamental basketball, and overall player development. Daily instruction and stations will focus on dribbling, ball-handling, shooting, rebounding and defensive techniques. Organized games between campers will provide a competitive outlet after specific drills have been practiced. Basic skill development will be available for those who need it.

The Green & Gold Junior Elite Camp is Friday, August 26th and attendees will learn and sharpen their skills while getting help from a championship level coaching staff. Guest speakers, contests and giveaways, and a chance to beat your favorite Spartan will all happen during this camp. This is for players in grades 6-8.

On Saturday, August 27, the Green & Gold Exposure Camp is aimed at 9th-12th grade students who look to sharpen their skills heading into the school year. A player clinic with instruction from NSU coaching staff along with breakdowns of athletes' speed and agility from the instructors.

The final camp of the summer is on August 28 with the Elite Camp. This session is for those in grades 9-12 with focus on fine tuning top player skills before the season.
