NORFOLK, Va. – Norfolk State Director of Athletics Melody Webb will speak at the 2023 HBCU Careers in Football Forum on Wednesday, organized by the National Football League (NFL).
Webb, the ninth athletics directory in the history of Norfolk State and the first female to hold the role, will be a featured speaker during Wednesday's Sports Management 101 sessions, covering a wide array of football careers in business, technology, operations, and administration.
The forum is the part of the NFL's partnership with HBCUs designed to drive awareness for career opportunities in the football industry. All sessions of this year's forum are being conducted virtually.
"We hope this forum is a very valuable resource in your awareness and professional development as well as a facilitator to expand your thinking around the opportunities within the professional sports industry," NFL Executive Vice President of Troy Vincent, Sr. said in a statement to attendees.
Webb will participate in the "Leaders in Intercollegiate Athletics" Panel, alongside three HBCU Division I athletic directors: Tiffany-Dawn Sykes (Florida A&M), Anthony D. Henderson, Sr. (Hampton), and Dr. Louis Perkins (North Carolina Central).
Hosted by ESPN sideline reporter Lericia Harris, the panel will begin at 11:10 a.m. ET on Wednesday, November 14.
