NORFOLK, Va. – Norfolk State offensive lineman Samuel Eskridge has been named to the 2023 Stats Perform FCS Freshman All-America Team, Presented by FedEx Ground.
 
The recognition comes after a tremendous rookie year for the King's Mountain, N.C. product, starting all 11 games for the Spartans. Eskridge totaled 45 pancakes and 23 knockdowns, allowing just two sacks the entire year.
 
Eskridge joined South Carolina State running back Jawarn Howell as the only student-athletes from the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) to be named to the team. The NSU freshman has now earned two national accolades this postseason, landing on the FanNation FCS Freshman All-America team on Nov. 27.
