NORFOLK, Va. – The Norfolk State men's tennis team dropped a road contest at William & Mary on Friday evening 7-0, dropping the Spartans to 1-2 on the season.

The Tribe won the opening doubles point by picking up victories on Courts 1 and 2, as Joseph Brailovsky and George Davis defeated
Federico Rebecchini and
Boris Lunin 6-2 at the top spot. Bill Duo and Andres Silva beat
Ibrahim Abbas and
Hugo Massoni Lena 6-1.

The Spartans fell 6-0, 6-0 at No. 4 and No. 5 singles, while the Tribe took the No. 6 position by default. Davis bested Rebecchini 6-1, 6-4 at the top of the lineup, before Sean Joseph defeated Lunin 6-3, 6-0 on Court 3.

Massoni Lena lost the first set to Silva 6-2, but battled throughout the second set in the most competitive match of the night. Silva ultimately pulled out the second set narrowly, defeating the Spartan sophomore 6-2, 7-5.

Norfolk State take one week off from match play after the loss, returning to action on Feb. 24 at Drexel.
