GREENSBORO, N.C. – The Norfolk State bowling team competed at the Stallings Invitational this weekend, finishing ninth out of 12 teams.
 
The Spartans ended with a 2-9 head-to-head record at the event, finishing ahead of Belmont Abbey, Howard, and Tusculum. As a team, NSU finished with an average pinfall of 163.2 per game.
 
Senior 
Megan Wheat led the Spartans with an average pinfall of 174 per game in the first format of play. During that five-person format, fifth year senior 
Trinity Gray tied for the highest single-game total, opening with a 209 while LeShauna Burrus matched that number in game two.
 
The Spartans went 1-0 in baker-style match play, defeating Belmont Abbey in six games. The Spartans added one more victory against the Crusaders in five-person total pinfall, with a 785-741 final result.
