NEW BRITAIN, Conn. | Norfolk State University and Central Connecticut State University announced changes ahead of this weekend's Northeast Conference (NEC) baseball series at CCSU Baseball Field.
Due to scheduled inclement weather, the Spartans and Blue Devils will now play a doubleheader (two nine-inning games), beginning at 12 p.m. on Friday. There is no determination at this time for Saturday's start time, which is originally scheduled for 1 p.m.
The Spartans (3-15 overall, 1-2 NEC) did not play a midweek game as Norfolk State is looking to get back into the win column for the first time since a 14-11 victory over Sacred Heart on March 10. Central Connecticut State (9-3, 6-0), picked to win the NEC, rolled into the series on a seven-game winning streak after outlasting Fairfield, 16-12, on Wednesday.
After the weekend series at CCSU, Norfolk State wraps up its eight-game road trip on Tuesday at VCU. First pitch against the Rams is scheduled for 6 p.m. from The Diamond.
