NORFOLK, Va. – Norfolk State sprinter
Kai Cole has been named Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Track Athlete of the Week, the conference announced on Wednesday.
The senior dominated every event he competed in on Saturday at the Virginia Quadrangular, earning three first-place finishes.
Cole won the 100 meters with a time of 10.32 seconds, before besting his opponents in the 200 meters in 20.93 seconds. He also helped the Spartans' 4x100 relay squad (Cole,
Anthony Franklin, Bryan Madison-Ahouman, and
Dwight Henry) take first in 41.72 seconds.
The recognition marked Cole's second conference weekly honor of the year, earning Track Athlete of the Week on Feb. 1 for his performance at the VMI Winter Classic.
