NORFOLK, Va. - The Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) announced the 2023 All-Academic teams late Tuesday afternoon in advance of the Softball Championship Tournament hosted by Norfolk State University.
74 student-athletes from the eight league schools that host softball were honored for their academic successes. The Spartans boasted a program record 14 honorees.
MEAC sophomore, junior and senior student-athletes with a 3.0 or better cumulative grade point average (GPA), as well as transfer student-athletes who have been in residence at the institution for at least one year, are eligible for All-Academic accolades.
NSU's 14 student-athletes tied with North Carolina Central with 14 as the two programs led the remaining six teams in total number. Howard and Morgan State both placed 10 honorees on the academic team, while Maryland Eastern Shore was close behind with nine. Delaware State had eight, South Carolina State six, and Coppin State three.
