NORFOLK, Va. | The Norfolk State University Department of Athletics is now accepting applications for its 2024 Hall of Fame induction.
Nominations will be accepted throughout the month of September via the department's
website. Only online nominations will be accepted, and fans may also email supporting info to accompany their nominations to AthleticInitiatives@nsu.edu. Nominations must be received by Monday, October 9.
Nominations for the Hall of Fame may be submitted by an NSU affiliate, to include NSU employees, NSU Athletics Foundation members, Board of Trustees members, alumni, inducted Hall of Fame members, and any Hall of Fame committee member.
To be considered for induction, nominees in the athlete category must be five years removed from competing at NSU, and coaches must be three years separated from their active coaching duties at NSU. The Hall of Fame committee will also consider supporters of Spartan athletics (humanitarians, supporters of athletics and those who have exhibited meritorious service). For the first time in 2019, outstanding championship teams are also eligible for nomination (limit one per class).
The 2024 NSU Athletics Hall of Fame weekend will coincide with the Spartans' home basketball games against South Carolina State on February 17. More information regarding the induction ceremony will be announced in the coming weeks.
