NORFOLK, Va. – Norfolk State student-athletes will have access to knowledge and expertise from some of the most respected professionals in the field of Name, Image, and Likeness (NIL) in the coming weeks.
Â
Norfolk State will host a full-day event, titled "Inside the NIL: HBCU Educational Summit," on Friday, Feb. 2 from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. in the Nursing & General Education Building. The occasion is part of a collaboration with B.E. Collective+, an organization dedicated to helping students from Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) monetize their name, image, and likeness, thereby maximizing their earning potential.
Â
The summit aims to equip student-athletes with the knowledge and connections to enhance their NIL opportunities. Norfolk State is one of two HBCU's to schedule summits with B.E. Collective+ so far, taking initiative in the rapidly growing world of NIL.
Â
At the summit, attendees will hear from a variety of speakers through many different forms. The event will provide thought-provoking discussions, information panel sessions, and the chance to network with like-minded individuals passionate about the intersection of sports and education.
Â
While the highly-anticipated event is free of charge to current Norfolk State student-athletes, anyone interested in attending can purchase tickets
