Rotich Leads Spartans to Seventh Place Finish at Panorama Farms Invite

EARLYSVILLE, Va. --- Senior Brian Rotich clocked a season-best time of 23:55:50 to place 23rd in the 8k, leading the Norfolk State men's cross-country team to a seventh-place finish at the Panorama Farms Invite Saturday morning.
 
The Spartans placed 22-28-38-45-101-122 for 234 points. Wake Forest won the meet with 38 points. The event featured 18 teams that included three ranked schools (No. 6 Wake Forest, No. 21 Virginia, and DII No.1 Wingate)
 
Gidion Sigei posted a time of 24:06.40, placing 32nd while Raphael Kitur placed 50th (24:20.60).
 
Senior Victor Jumo took 57th place (24:24.50), while sophomore Basil Koech rounded out the Spartans' five scores, clocking a time of 26:13.90 to place 152nd.
 
Sophomore Christopher Bett posted a strong performance, finishing the course with a time of 27:37.10 to place 183rd.
 
Norfolk State will next compete in Smyrna, Del. on Oct. 26th at the MEAC Championships.
