NORFOLK, Va. -
The Norfolk State volleyball team readies itself for Homecoming week as it hosts both North Carolina Central on Friday and South Carolina State on Sunday.

The North Carolina Central match, slated for Friday at 6 p.m., has Norfolk State volleyball graduates return to Gill Gymnasium for the "Alumni Mixer" match.

The Spartans (9-11, 3-4 MEAC) fell to the Eagles (4-14, 2-2 MEAC) in five sets in the teams' last meeting on Sept. 27 behind an incredible outing from sophomore Gabrelle Gilbert, who recorded a 24-kill, 11-dig double-double. 

After facing the Eagles, Norfolk State hosts South Carolina State (3-15, 1-5 MEAC) on Sunday for the 1 p.m. match. 

In the last meeting between the Spartans and the Bulldogs, Norfolk State won 3-1 after Gilbert had one of her best all-around performances this season, grabbing 21 kills, five digs, four block assists, and three service aces.

Norfolk State travel to Princess Anne, Md. to face Maryland Eastern Shore on Friday, Nov. 1 to enter the month before a three-match homestand starting on Sunday, Nov. 3 against Delaware State at 1 p.m.
