Kitur, Sigei Lead Spartans at Pirate Invitational

GREENVILLE, N.C. --- Raphael Kitur, Gidion Sigei, and Brian Rotich placed in the top ten to lead the Norfolk State Men's Cross Country team at the Pirate Invitational on Friday morning.

Norfolk State earned a sixth-place team finish with 128 points. American University won the event with 92 points. 
 
Kitur posted a personal best 8k time of 23:44.50, placing second while Sigei placed sixth (23:57.70).

Rotich took tenth place, clocking a time of 24:07.50. Senior Victor Jumo clocked a 24:16.70 to place 12th. 
 
Basil Koech posted a personal best time of 26:21.20, placing 129th to round out the Spartan finishers.
 
Norfolk State will next compete in Earlysville, Va. on Oct. 19 at the Panorama Farms Invite.
