NORFOLK, Va. – The Norfolk State men's basketball team returns from a brief Thanksgiving break to immediately hit the road once again this weekend, closing out a six-game stretch away from home.

The Spartans (5-3) face Stony Brook (2-5) at Stony Brook Arena at 1 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 1, looking to build off a momentous victory from the week prior.

After dropping matchups with Stanford and Grand Canyon, Norfolk State ended its West Coast nonconference swing with an emphatic 76-55 triumph at UC Davis on Monday, Nov. 25. The game featured four ties and nine lead changes. But the Spartans took complete control early in the second half and never looked back.

Fresh off earning his third consecutive MEAC Player of the Week recognition, graduate guard Brian Moore Jr. led Norfolk State with 19 points against the Aggies, adding five rebounds, four assists, and three steals as well. Norfolk State improved to 36-1 under head coach Robert Jones when five Spartans score in double figures.

Stony Brook has struggled to put games in the win column early in the season, its only victories coming against Central Michigan and St. Joseph's Long Island. The Seawolves lost a road bout to Brown on Wednesday, 77-54, falling behind quickly in the first half without regaining enough momentum later in the game to mount any sort of comeback.

Sunday's game will air on FloCollege with live stats available on StatBroadcast.com.
