Pair of Spartans Compete at Sharon Colyear-Danville Season Opener

BOSTON, Mass. --- Two Norfolk State men's track and field members competed at the Sharon Colyear-Danville season opener on Saturday.

Senior Brian Rotich earned the top finish for the Spartans, clocking an indoor school record time of 14:07.14 in the 5,000 meters to place 124th in a field of almost 200 runners.

Senior Gidion Sigei followed closely behind, taking 142nd place in the same event (14:16.83).

Norfolk State will return to action after the new year, beginning with the Hokie Invitational on Saturday, Jan. 11 in Blacksburg, Va.
