NORFOLK, Va. – Norfolk State freshman
Chris Fields Jr. continues to pile accolades onto an outstanding debut campaign, earning Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Rookie of the Week honors on Wednesday afternoon.
The recognition comes after two strong performances by Fields in a pair of road victories over the weekend. The Spartans defeated Coppin State 68-66 on Saturday, before earning an 85-82 win over Morgan State on Monday.
Across both games, Fields averaged 11.0 points, 3.5 rebounds, and 1.5 assists per contest. He shot 8-of-14 (57.1 percent) from the floor and 6-of-7 (85.7 percent) from the free throw line.
The award marks Fields' fourth MEAC weekly award this season, and third MEAC Rookie of the Week recognition.
