NORFOLK, Va. – The Norfolk State Athletics Department and INFLCR have unveiled the launch of the NSU Spartans NIL Exchange, a breakthrough step in providing student-athletes with the tools and resources to maximize their Name, Image, and Likeness (NIL) opportunities.
Â
The NSU Spartans NIL Exchange, providing a convenient and productive starting point for NIL deals between student-athletes and registered businesses, will mark another significant stage in Norfolk State's innovative approach to the evolving landscape of collegiate athletics.
Â
"We are extremely excited to announce our latest endeavor into the realm of NIL by introducing the NSU Spartans NIL Exchange," Director of Athletics Melody Webb said. "Teaming up with INFLCR, an industry-leading platform supported by a customized strategic plan, will assist our student-athletes in enhancing their personal brands and tracking their goals on and off the playing surface."
Â
Stemming from the operating system Teamwork, INFLCR is the top brand-building and NIL business management app, utilized by over 270 elite collegiate and professional sports organizations. Collaborating with university compliance departments, the resource educates student-athletes, coaches, and staff on finding success within the rules and regulations outlined by the National Collegiate Athletics Association (NCAA).
Â
The NSU Spartans NIL Exchange will provide a database for businesses, collectives, or individuals to reach student-athletes who meet the criteria of their search. They can message the student-athlete directly or request the student-athlete's contact information to start a discussion about an NIL transaction.
Â
Once the NIL deal between a student-athlete and a business has been finalized, the compliance disclosure will include a payment processing tool for the business to securely pay the student-athlete.
Â
"We're proud to partner with Norfolk State to launch the NSU Spartans NIL Exchange," said INFLCR General Manager Sean Kelly. "The exchange opens the door for NSU student-athletes to connect with businesses and fans, unlocking new NIL opportunities."
Â
In the INFLCR app, student-athletes have access to real-time content access from the school's media staff and external media partners, as well as personalized metrics to track social media growth and social media engagement. The app integrates with many content sharing organizations, including Google Drive, Dropbox, and PhotoShelter.
