Moore, Mading Earn Weekly Accolades

| By:
NORFOLK, Va. – Two Norfolk State men's basketball players picked up Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) recognitions on Monday afternoon.

Graduate guard Brian Moore Jr. received the MEAC Player of the Week award, while also earning BOXTOROW HBCU National Player of the Week honors. Senior forward Kuluel Mading was named MEAC Defensive Player of the Week.

Moore averaged 25.0 points, 5.5 rebounds, and 5.0 assists per game across a pair of victories last week, as the Spartans defeated Washington Adventist and Howard at Echols Hall. Mading protected the rim with ferocity during those wins, averaging 6.5 rebounds and 2.5 blocks per game.

Helping the Spartans hand Howard its first loss of MEAC play, Moore enjoyed one of the best games of his career on Saturday. He recorded 30 points and three assists, shooting 8-of-8 from the free throw line.

Mading notched his first double-double in a Spartan uniform against the Shock, tallying 16 points and 11 rebounds. He added three blocks to his totals, recording two blocks against Howard later that week.

Moore's nod marked his fifth MEAC Player of the Week recognition this season, while Mading received the first MEAC award of his career.

The Spartans return to action on Saturday at 4:30 p.m., facing South Carolina State at Echols Hall.
