NORFOLK, Va. – The Norfolk State men's basketball team plays at home for the third consecutive weekend on Saturday, looking to maintain its position at the top of the conference standings.

The Spartans (14-8, 4-1 MEAC) face South Carolina State (9-11, 3-2) at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 1 for Alumni Day at Joseph G. Echols Hall. Norfolk State then hosts North Carolina Central (10-12, 3-2) in a nationally televised showdown at 7 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 3.

Norfolk State returned to the driver's seat in the conference race with a dominant 92-75 win over Howard on Saturday in front of a spectacular crowd.
Brian Moore Jr. led the Spartans with 30 points, shooting 11-of-18 from the floor and 8-of-8 from the free throw line.
Christian Ings added 19 points of his own, while
Jalen Myers recorded 15 points and eight rebounds.

South Carolina State opened MEAC play with a pair of convincing wins in Baltimore at Morgan State and Coppin State but has since taken closes losses to Delaware State and North Carolina Central. Forward Drayton Jones leads the Bulldogs with 12.9 points and 5.1 rebounds per game

North Carolina Central dropped its first two games of conference play but enter Monday's matchup on a three-game win streak. The Eagles are led by All-MEAC performer Po'Boigh King, averaging 16.6 points per contest.

Moore received MEAC Player of the Week accolades on Monday for the fifth time this season, earning BOXTOROW HBCU National Player of the Week honors as well.
Kuluel Mading received the MEAC Defensive Player of the Week award.
