Norfolk State Plays Host to South Carolina State on Saturday and North Carolina Central on Monday

NORFOLK, Va. --- Coming off an undefeated month of January, the Norfolk State women's basketball team enters February on a seven-game winning streak.
 
NSU is set for a pair of MEAC games this weekend, first against South Carolina State at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 1, and against North Carolina Central at 4 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 3. Both games will take place at Echols Hall.
 
The Spartans picked up a key 69-53 MEAC win over Howard on Saturday, Jan. 25. Graduate guard Diamond Johnson led NSU with 24 points, adding eight rebounds, seven assists, three steals, and one block to her totals.
 
Norfolk State and South Carolina State met three times last season. The last meeting took place in the MEAC quarterfinals with NSU picking up a 75-43 win over SCSU. Senior forward Kierra Wheeler and Johnson combined for 38 points in the win.
 
NSU leads the all-time series against North Carolina Central 31-10. The Spartans took down the Eagles twice last season (81-60 and 72-44). Johnson scored 40 points across the two games, leading the way for the Spartans.
 
Both games will air live on ESPN+. Radio coverage will be available on WNSB 91.1 FM, featuring Ross Gordon and Woube Gebre on the call.
