NORFOLK, Va. – Norfolk State returns to William "Dick" Price Stadium for its final home contest of the season on Saturday, Nov. 15, hosting Morgan State University. The Spartans will honor the 2025 senior class and recognize the men and women of the U.S. Armed Forces as part of Military Appreciation Day.

ABOUT THE GAME

Norfolk State leads the all-time series 23–13 in a matchup that dates back to 1965. Morgan State claimed last year's meeting in Baltimore by a single point, edging the Spartans 38–37.

A win on Saturday would mark NSU's first victory over the Bears since 2022, when the Spartans earned a 24–21 road win.

SCOUTING THE SPARTANS

Norfolk State comes into the matchup at 1–9 overall following a 31–28 road setback at North Carolina Central, a game in which the Spartans erased a 14-point deficit to pull within one score late.

Quarterback Otto Kuhns completed 18-of-26 passes for 197 yards and a touchdown before leaving due to injury. Backup Vinson Berry stepped in and delivered 42 yards on 4-of-9 passing with two touchdowns.

The Spartans' ground game stood out, led by Kevon King's 149 rushing yards. X'Zavion Evans added 28 yards and a seven-yard touchdown run.

Through the air, Kam'Ryn Thomas posted six catches for 96 yards and two touchdowns, while DreSean Kendrick added six receptions for 58 yards and a score.

On defense, Daylan Long, Terique Miles, and Kaleb Broadbent each recorded eight tackles to lead the unit.

SCOUTING THE BEARS

Morgan State enters the weekend at 3–7 overall and 0–3 in MEAC play. The Bears are coming off a tight 14–12 loss to Delaware State on Friday night in Baltimore, where the defense kept MSU in contention from start to finish.

The Bears held DSU to 13 first downs, 114 rushing yards, and 283 total yards while forcing seven punts for 280 yards. That defensive performance aligns with Morgan State's national rankings, where the Bears excel in several key areas:

  • 10th in blocked kicks (4)

  • 23rd in blocked punts (1)

  • 24th in fumbles recovered (7)

  • 14th in punt return average (14.25 yards/return)

  • 25th in rushing defense (125.1 yards per game)

  • 14th in team sacks (2.80 per game)

  • 6th in tackles for loss (8.0 per game)

Head coach Damon Wilson is in his fourth season leading the program. He owns a 17–26 record at MSU and a 106–71 overall mark in 16 seasons as a head coach.

A LOOK AHEAD

Norfolk State wraps up the 2025 season on Saturday, Nov. 22, traveling to Washington, D.C., to face Howard University at Audi Field. Kickoff is scheduled for 3:30 p.m. on ESPN+.
