NORFOLK, Va. – The Norfolk State men's basketball team looks to further its gap atop the MEAC standings this weekend, facing a pair of Baltimore opponents in a crucial conference stretch.

The Spartans (18-8, 8-1 MEAC) head to Charm City to face Coppin State (4-20, 2-7) on Saturday at 4 p.m., before returning home to Joseph G. Echols Hall for a matchup with Morgan State (11-14, 5-4). The showdown against the Bears will mark the final home contest of the 2024-25 season for NSU, headlined as both Senior Night and Greek Night for attending fans.

Prior to Monday's game, the Spartans will honor a tremendous class of eight seniors:

Norfolk State earned a pair of comfortable double-digit wins last week, defeating Maryland Eastern Shore 75-63 on the road before returning home to defeat Delaware State 96-84.
Chris Fields Jr. led NSU with 23 points, nine rebounds, and six assists against the Hornets, becoming just the third Spartan in the last 20 years to record at least 20 points, nine rebounds, and six assists in a game.

Coppin State plays aggressively at the defensive end, swarming the passing lanes at every opportunity. Guard Toby Nnadozie, a summer transfer from UMES, ranks 11
th in the nation and first in the MEAC with 2.5 steals per game.

Norfolk State seeks vengeance against Morgan State, the only loss on the Spartans' conference record midway through the MEAC slate. The Spartans nearly mounted a tremendous comeback in the final minutes of the January matchup, but Morgan State held NSU off for an 84-82 victory at Hill Field House.
