BUIES CREEK, N.C. – The Norfolk State women's tennis team dropped a road contest to Campbell, 7-0, on Thursday afternoon.

Campbell (6-5) won the opening doubles point with comfortable victories on Courts 1 and 2, each by a score of 6-2.

The Fighting Camels swept singles play, starting with a 6-2, 7-6 victory at the No. 1 position.

Two Spartans forced third sets but could not close the comeback efforts. Sonia Pieczynska defeated
Yuliya Yurkova 6-2, 3-6, 1-0 on the No. 2 position, while Ofer Kivity bested Caroline Nichols 6-3, 6-7, 1-0 at the No. 3 slot.

Norfolk State returns to action on Wednesday against Frostburg State at NSU Tennis Complex.
