Spartans Sweep Frostburg State, 7-0, at NSU Tennis Complex

Box Score NORFOLK, Va. – The Norfolk State women's tennis team cruised past Frostburg State on Wednesday afternoon, taking down Frostburg State 7-0 at NSU Tennis Complex.
 
The Spartans (6-6) won the opening doubles point with a win by default on Court 3, before Yuliya Yurkova and Caroline Nicholls earned a 6-1 victory on Court 2. Sabina Iurea and Irina Iurea completed the opening sweep with a 7-6 triumph at the No. 1 position.
 
Nicholls kept the momentum going with a quick 6-0, 6-0 win over Lorena Pintar at the No. 3 singles position, while the Spartans took Court 6 by default. Yurkova clinched the dual victory for the Spartans with a 6-0, 6-3 triumph over Patricia Castejon at the No. 2 slot.
 
Irina Iurea beat Ella Troxell 6-1, 6-2 at the fourth position, before Sabina Iurea closed out the match with a comfortable 6-1, 6-0 win over Femke Hofkamp at the No. 5 slot.
 
Norfolk State returns to action on Thursday with a home matchup against East Carolina.
