Norfolk State Finishes Season at MEAC Championship

RALEIGH, N.C. - To cap off the 2025 season, the Norfolk State bowling team competed at the 2025 Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Bowling Championship from Mar. 21-23 in Raleigh, N.C.

All-eight MEAC bowling teams will compete in the double-elimination bowling championship using the mega-match format in the preliminary rounds. Sunday's championship match will be best of seven Baker format.

The Spatans entered the tournament seeded eighth, losing 2-0 to the top seeded North Carolina A&T Aggies on Friday.

Norfolk State fell 942-718 in traditional play with Jazmin Esquibel leading the Spartans with 174 total pinfall. The Spartans fell 844-689 in Baker play.

After facing NC A&T in the first round of preliminaries, the Spartans faced the No. 4 seed University of Alabama at Birmingham, who had lost 2-0 to No. 5 Delaware State previously.

The Spartans fell to the Blazers 2-0: 815-678 in traditional play and 857-723 in Baker play. LaShauna Burrus led Norfolk State with 162 in traditional play.

Both No. 1 seed North Carolina A&T and No. 4 seed UAB face off in the Championship game on Sunday on ESPN+.
