Spartans Dominate Road Matchup at VSU

Box Score PETERSBURG, Va. – The Norfolk State women's tennis team got back to a .500 winning percentage on Sunday, taking down Virginia State 6-0 at VSU Tennis Complex.
 
The Spartans (7-7) swept the opening doubles point, winning by default on Court 3. Yuliya Yurkova and Ines Sabadie earned a 6-0 victory at the top position before Sabina Iurea and Irina Iurea won 6-1 at the No. 2 slot.
 
Yurkova earned a 6-0, 6-0 victory over Makensie Pago at the top spot in the singles lineup, putting the Spartans ahead 2-0.
 
Irina Iurea earned a 6-0, 6-0 win on Court 2, before Ines Sabadie took down Ginger Johnson 6-4, 6-3 at the No. 3 slot. Sara Gonzalez bested Damita Bollers 6-0, 6-0 on Court 6, as Sabina Iurea closed out the day with a 6-1, 6-3 win over Alexcie Burrows at the No. 5 position.
