NORFOLK, Va. – South Carolina State ended the Norfolk State men's tennis team's eight-game win streak on Thursday, taking down the Spartans 7-0 at NSU Tennis Complex.

Norfolk State (12-10) lost the opening doubles points, falling on the No. 1 and No. 3 courts.
Jakub Solarski and
Deniz Okyay produced the lone doubles victory, winning 6-2 at the No. 2 slot.

Aissa Benchakroun defeated Okyay 6-3, 6-3 at the No. 3 singles position to keep the momentum going for South Carolina State, before Mikalai Bankou took down Solarski 6-4, 6-2 at the top spot.

Novak Novakovic clinched the match for South Carolina State (12-3), beating
Vladisav Gorbatenko 7-5, 7-6 (4) at the No. 2 position. Vanja Petrov took down
Michele Elia 7-5, 6-3 at the No. 6 slot.

South Carolina State won a pair of three set thrillers to close the afternoon. Gabriel Johnson took down
Frederick McRae 6-3, 4-6, 13-11 on Court 4, while Illiyas Maratuly bested
Igor Kubalka 6-4, 3-6, 10-8.

Norfolk State concludes the regular season with a road matchup at Elon on Sunday, Apr. 13, slated for a 12 p.m. start.
