UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. --- The Norfolk State women's track and field team delivered several strong performances at the Penn State National on Friday and Saturday.

Daena Dyer led the Spartans on the track, finishing ninth in the 60-meter hurdles with a time of 8.74 after advancing to the semifinals.

Norfolk State recorded three top-15 finishes in the field events, paced by
Yowome Ayim, who placed 11th in the triple jump with a mark of 11.46 meters. Freshman
Emma Svetiev followed with a 12th-place finish in the pole vault after clearing 3.30 meters, while
Essence Shaw earned 15th place in the high jump with a clearance of 1.60 meters.

On the distance side,
Sonia Koech paced the Spartans in the 5,000 meters, placing 10th with a time of 18:03.07.
Abigael Chebet finished 16th in the same event, clocking 19:04.51.

Norfolk State returns to action on Friday, Feb. 6, at the Penn Classic in Philadelphia.
