VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. --- The Norfolk State women's track and field team finished second overall at the MEAC Indoor Championships following a strong showing on the final day of competition Sunday.

Howard won the championship with 215 points. Norfolk State followed in second (125), while N.C. Central took third (97). Delaware State and S.C. State each scored 61 points to round out the top five.

Brooklyn Robinson delivered the Spartans' lone individual gold medal of the day, winning the 60-meter hurdles in 8.28 seconds. Robinson also placed eighth in the 60 meters (7.64), while
Asiah Wike added a fourth-place finish in the same event with a time of 7.56.

In the 200 meters,
Autumn Burrell finished sixth in 24.66, and
Jada Arrington took eighth in the 400 meters (58.23).
Moamiky Kenneh placed fourth in the 800 meters with a time of 2:15.0, while
Dannielle King finished 10th (2:22.10).

Norfolk State dominated the distance events.
Sonia Koech earned silver in both the mile (5:15.83) and the 5,000 meters (18:04.02).
Abigael Chebet followed closely with fourth-place finishes in the mile (5:20.69) and the 5,000 meters (18:52.12).
Amira Dailey added points with a 10th-place run in the mile (5:31.75) and a seventh-place finish in the 5,000 meters (19:39.54).

Emma Svetiev secured a silver medal in the pole vault with a clearance of 3.30 meters, while
Fabienne Renelus finished fourth at 2.50 meters. In the field events,
Amanti Mayes placed seventh in the shot put (11.55m), and
Yowome Ayim finished sixth in the triple jump (11.57m).

The Spartans closed the championships with a silver-medal performance in the 4x400-meter relay, as Arrington, Kenneh, Burrell and Drumwright crossed the line in 3:48.3. The quartet later received gold after a Howard disqualification.
