NORFOLK, Va. — Norfolk State softball freshman McKaley Kohn earned Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) weekly honors after helping lead the Spartans to a series win over Delaware State to open conference play. For her efforts, Kohn was named MEAC Rookie of the Week.

Kohn turned in a productive week at the plate, batting .600 (6-for-10) with five runs scored and four RBI while posting an .800 on-base percentage and a .692 slugging percentage. She collected one triple and drew three walks, recording at least one hit in all three games of the series against Delaware State.

In the series finale, Kohn delivered a perfect 4-for-4 performance at the plate with two runs scored and three RBI to help lead the Spartans to the victory.

Defensively, she added five putouts and seven assists during the week, including throwing out a runner attempting to steal against Longwood.

Norfolk State returns to action this weekend with its first road trip of the season, traveling to Maryland Eastern Shore on Saturday and Sunday to continue MEAC play.
