GREENVILLE, N.C. --- The Norfolk State women's track and field team posted several strong performances at the Bill Carson Invitational on Friday and Saturday.
 
Brooklyn Robinson won the 100-meter finals in 11.61 seconds, while Sonia Koech captured first in the 5,000 meters with a time of 18:27.22. The Spartans' 4x400-meter relay team of Jada Arrington, Moamiky Kenneh, Jahmei Wyatt, and Payton Drumwright closed out the meet with a first-place finish in 3:51.67.
 
Asiah Wike finished third in the 100 meters in 11.90 seconds, following Robinson. Autumn Burrell led Norfolk State in the 200 meters with a ninth-place time of 24.73. In the 400-meter hurdles, the Spartans earned three top-10 finishes: Drumwright finished second (1:01.06), Daena Dyer in fifth (1:04.54), and Trinity Lucas in sixth (1:04.63).
 
Wyatt led the Spartans in the 800 meters, placing third in 2:15.82, while Kenneth finished seventh in 2:21.50. Wyatt also took fourth in the 1,500 meters (4:47.04), and Koech placed ninth in 4:51.41. Amira Dailey closed out the distance events with a second-place finish in the 5,000 meters (19:37.73).
 
Lexa Hunter led Norfolk State in field events with a third-place finish in the pole vault, clearing 5.35 meters. Yowome Ayim took fifth in the long jump with a leap of 5.35 meters, and Kaena Riley placed 10th in the discus throw with a toss of 33.29 meters.
 
The Spartans' second 4x400-meter relay team, consisting of Burrell, Lucas, Dyer, and Wike, finished second in 4:00.40 to close out the meet.
 
Norfolk State returns home for the NSU Invitational at William "Dick" Price Stadium on Saturday, April 4.
