AUGUSTA, N.J. --- The Norfolk State baseball team dropped a 15-2 decision in seven innings to Wagner on Friday afternoon at Skylands Stadium in Augusta, N.J.

Norfolk State fell to 12-18 overall and 9-7 in Northeast Conference play, while Wagner improved to 12-17 (10-6 NEC).
Ethan Blakeney (3-3) took the loss after starting on the mound for the Spartans, throwing four strikeouts.

Thomas Ealey paced Norfolk State at the plate, going 3-for-3.
Jaydan Israel added two hits, while
Hunter Gillespie recorded a double and drove in a run.
Nyenati Snoh and
Sean Harris-Walter each saw action in relief for the Spartans.

Wagner jumped on the Spartans early, scoring two runs in the first inning before adding four more in the second to take a 6-0 lead. The Seahawks extended their advantage with single runs in the third and fourth innings, pushing the lead to 8-0.

Norfolk State got on the board in the sixth inning when
Jaydan Israel scored on a double-play ball, cutting the deficit to 8-1. Wagner broke the game open in the sixth inning, plating seven runs to extend the lead to 15-1.

The Spartans added their final run in the seventh inning when Gillespie doubled down the right-field line to score
Kydese Queen.

Norfolk State returns to action on Saturday for the second game of the series against Wagner. First pitch is set for 7 p.m. at Skylands Stadium.
