AUGUSTA, N.J. --- The Norfolk State baseball team fell 3-2 to Wagner on Saturday evening at Skylands Stadium.

Norfolk State dropped to 12-19 overall and 9-8 in Northeast Conference play, while Wagner improved to 13-17 (11-6 NEC).
Yasseel Samboy (3-1) took the loss in relief for the Spartans, allowing two runs over 2.1 innings with four strikeouts.
Parker Hampton delivered a strong start for Norfolk State, allowing one run on three hits across six innings.

Thomas Ealey led Norfolk State at the plate, going 2-for-5 with a run scored.
Ryan Hoeft finished 2-for-3 with an RBI, while
Kydese Queen added a hit and drove in a run.
Hunter Gillespie also recorded a hit for the Spartans.

Norfolk State struck first in the second inning when Queen singled through the left side to score
Cameron Mazell, giving the Spartans a 1-0 lead. Wagner answered in the fourth inning, tying the game at 1-1 on a sacrifice fly.

The Spartans regained the lead in the eighth inning as Hoeft lifted a sacrifice fly to center field, bringing home Ealey for a 2-1 advantage. Wagner responded in the bottom half of the inning, evening the score at 2-2 on an RBI single.

The Seahawks secured the win in the ninth inning when Evan McRae scored on a balk, lifting Wagner to a 3-2 victory.

Norfolk State will wrap up the series against Wagner on Sunday. First pitch is scheduled for 1 p.m. at Skylands Stadium.
