Dahni Suggs Signs with Norfolk State Women’s Basketball

| By:
NORFOLK, Va. --- Norfolk State head coach Jermaine Woods announced on Thursday afternoon that Dahni Suggs has signed with the Spartans.

"Dahni is an excellent addition to our program," Woods said. "We believe that she will make an immediate impact as a freshman. She is a competitor and a winner and that fits the culture we're building at Norfolk State."

Suggs, a 6-foot-3 forward from Baltimore, attended Saint Frances Academy. As a senior, she averaged 12.3 points, 9.1 rebounds, 1.7 blocks and 1.0 steals per game, earning IAAM first-team honors. She helped lead her team to a second consecutive IAAM championship while also earning honor roll recognition.

"I chose Norfolk State because when I visited the campus, I immediately felt at home," Suggs said. "I was welcomed by the coaches and players and immediately knew I would have chemistry with them. I saw myself as a Spartan as soon as I put on that jersey."

As a junior, Suggs averaged 9.1 points, 7.5 rebounds and 2.2 blocks per game. She earned IAAM first-team honors as a sophomore and all-freshman first-team recognition in her first season. She played AAU basketball with Durant for three years and Team Thrill for two years, winning the GymRat Tournament championship.

Suggs is the daughter of Candace Williams and Terrell Suggs, a retired professional football player. She is also the cousin of Jalen Suggs of the Orlando Magic. Her uncle, Malcom, plays professional basketball overseas.

Norfolk State finished the 2024-25 season with an 18-15 record, marking its fifth consecutive appearance in the MEAC championship game and the program's second WNIT berth. The Spartans also ranked second nationally in field goal percentage defense and third in 3-point field goal percentage defense.
