NORFOLK, Va. – The Norfolk State men's tennis team delivered a dominant performance in a 5-0 shutout over cross-bay rival Hampton on Wednesday afternoon at the Nat Warren Tennis Center.
With the win, the Spartans improved to 10-8 overall heading into a two-match road trip to South Carolina.
Norfolk State set the tone early by securing the doubles point with wins at the No. 2 and No. 3 positions. The duo of Przemek Nikolajuk and Szymon Malecki earned a 6-4 victory at No. 2, while Dominik Simunovic and Luka Cvjetkovic clinched the point with a win by forfeit at No. 3.
The Spartans carried that momentum into singles play, winning four matches to secure the shortened 5-0 decision. Szymon Janzen contributed a dominant 6-1, 6-0 win at No. 3, while Dominik Simunovic followed with a 6-0, 6-1 victory at No. 4.
Kasper Kulpa did not relinquish a game at No. 5, earning a 6-0, 6-0 win to clinch the match for Norfolk State. Marcin Dójczynski rounded out the scoring with a win by forfeit at No. 6.
At the top of the lineup, Marcin Andrzejczak won his opening set before his match went unfinished, while Szymon Malecki also led 6-1, 4-0 at No. 2 prior to the match being halted.

Norfolk State continues its season with a two-match road trip to South Carolina. The Spartans will face Presbyterian on Friday before taking on MEAC opponent South Carolina State on Saturday in Orangeburg.
