NORFOLK, Va. --- Norfolk State head coach
Jermaine Woods announced the signing of Alexis Davis on Tuesday morning.

"It is with great pleasure that I welcome Alexis to Spartan nation," Woods said. "Alexis is expected to make significant contributions through her scoring and rebounding abilities. With her strong basketball mentality, Alexis will positively influence our teams culture and I anticipate her leadership qualities will greatly benefit our locker room."

The 6-foot forward from Glassboro, N.J., appeared in 31 games with 15 starts at Monmouth last season. She averaged 7.1 points and 6.1 rebounds per game, ranking second on the team in rebounding. Davis recorded seven double-figure scoring games and posted three double-doubles.

Before Monmouth, Davis spent two seasons at Buffalo. She started 20 games as a sophomore, averaging 6.3 points and 5.2 rebounds per game while shooting 45% from the field. As a freshman, she averaged 7.8 points and 6.3 rebounds per game and led the team with 207 total rebounds.

Davis graduated from Woodbury High School, where she scored 2,000 career points and grabbed 1,000 rebounds, becoming the first player in school history to reach both milestones. She finished as the county's all-time leading scorer with 2,145 points and recorded a double-double in 79 of 86 career games. Davis also earned Colonial Conference Player of the Year honors and All-Group 1 first-team recognition.

Norfolk State finished the 2024-25 season with an 18-15 record, marking its fifth consecutive appearance in the MEAC championship game and the program's second WNIT berth. The Spartans also ranked second nationally in field goal percentage defense and third in 3-point field goal percentage defense.
