PRINCESS ANNE, Md. --- The Norfolk State baseball team is set to hit the road after an eight game homestand to take on Maryland Eastern Shore in a three-game series, beginning on Friday, May 1 with a doubleheader.

ABOUT NORFOLK STATE
Norfolk State enters the weekend with a 16-24 record (12-12 NEC) following a 1-2 weekend against Le Moyne (9-7, 4-10, 4-15).

Thomas Ealey leads the Spartans with a .373 batting average, totaling 57 hits, 35 runs scored and 23 stolen bases. He also has 11 RBIs, three doubles, and three triples.
Jaydan Israel and
Justin Journette each hold a .305 batting average, while Journette has 13 home runs this season.
Josiah Harrison also holds a .317 batting average with 32 hits this season, while Isreal ranks second on the team with 16 stolen bases.

ABOUT MARYLAND EASTERN SHORE
Maryland Eastern Shore enters the weekend 7-31 on the season (6-18 NEC). The Hawks will be looking to snap a seven-game losing streak, following the three-game series loss to Wagner (6-11, 3-9, 3-15) last weekend.

Jonathan Gonzalez Perez leads the Hawks with a .338 batting average that includes 49 RBIs, 47 hits, 30 runs scored, 12 home runs and eight doubles. Julian Jimenez ranks second on the team with a .299 average with 43 runs scored, 41 hits, 13 RBIs, five triples, four doubles, and four home runs. Darrius Brown leads the Hawks on the bases this season with 13 stolen base, while Ansel Carson leads the team in walks with 39.

Richard De Jesus (1-6) leads the Hawks on the mound this season with a 5.86 ERA and 34 strikeouts. Esteban Torres (1-6) has recorded 30 strikeouts this season, while Cade Williams (2-5) has 28 strikeouts. Janluis Santiago (0-0) and Darrius Brown (0-3) have each recorded one save this season.
