NORFOLK, Va. — Norfolk State Director of Track and Field Programs Kenneth Giles earned Cross Country Coach of the Year honors at the third annual HBCU Sports Awards Show.
 
The HBCU Sports Awards Show recognized administrators, student-athletes and coaches across 46 categories representing NCAA Division I, Division II and NAIA sports.
 
Giles led the Spartans to their fifth consecutive Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Men's Cross Country Championship in 2025. He also coached Lewis Too to the individual conference title and earned MEAC Men's Cross Country Most Outstanding Coach honors for the 17th time. Giles also led the women's squad to a runner up finish at the championships.
