LOUISVILLE, Ky. --- Seven Norfolk State softball student-athletes earned 2025-26 Easton/NFCA All-America Scholar-Athlete honors, as announced by the National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) on Wednesday afternoon. 

Representing Norfolk State on this year's list are Savannah Stover, Maya Johnson, Jordan Knott, McKaley Kohn, Peyton Moran, Madison Morris and Bristyl Riddick. 

The seven Spartans were among 8,850 collegiate student-athletes across all divisions recognized by the NFCA for their academic success during the 2025-26 academic year. To qualify for Easton/NFCA All-America Scholar-Athlete honors, student-athletes must achieve a 3.5 grade-point average or higher during the academic year. 

"I'm incredibly proud of these seven young women for the commitment they have shown in the classroom," Norfolk State head softball coach Tatjana Matthews said. "Being a student-athlete requires tremendous discipline and time management, and this recognition speaks to the standard they have set for themselves academically. We want our program to pursue excellence in everything we do, and it's exciting to see their hard work recognized on a national level." 

NCAA Division I led all classifications with 2,637 student-athletes receiving the distinction. NCAA Division III followed with 2,491 honorees, while NCAA Division II produced 1,869. Junior college programs accounted for 1,190 recipients, with 655 coming from NAIA institutions. 

The recognition adds another accomplishment to the Spartans' 2025-26 campaign, highlighting the program's commitment to excellence both on the field and in the classroom. 

Team grade-point averages and individual scholar-athletes are submitted to the NFCA by member head coaches.
