RADFORD, Va. — Norfolk State senior Gabrielle Gilbert was named to the all-tournament team following the Spartans' three-match weekend at the Donald N. Dedmon Center, host Radford announced Saturday.
It is the second consecutive weekend Gilbert has earned all-tournament honors. She was also selected at the UNCW Hampton Inn University Invitational on Sept. 12.
Gilbert totaled 46 kills over 12 sets in Radford, an average of 3.83 per set, and added 24 digs, five service aces and 53.0 points. She opened with 12 kills, three aces and 11 digs against Bellarmine, matched her season high with 16 kills against the host Highlanders and closed the weekend with 18 kills and 10 digs in a five-set match against Chattanooga.
The weekend came two weeks after Gilbert became Norfolk State's all-time career kills leader, passing the 1,177 kills Charlotte Armstead compiled from 2009-12.

Norfolk State opens MEAC play at home next weekend, hosting Morgan State at 6 p.m. Friday, Sept. 25, and Coppin State at 1 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 27, in Gill Gymnasium.
