2006-07 (Junior Year)
Started all 30 games at shooting guard…named to the All-MEAC second team for the second consecutive season…won the Coca-Cola Golden Basket award as team MVP…led the team and ranked fourth in the MEAC in scoring (16.5 ppg)…also paced the Spartans in field goals made (170) and attempted (418), 3-pointers made (79) and attempted (207), and steals (29)…ranked third in the MEAC in 3-pointers made (2.63 per game), fifth in minutes played (35.1 per game), seventh in free throw percentage (.781), and eighth in 3-point percentage (.382)…averaged a career-best 3.8 rebounds per game, including 5.1 in MEAC games…scored a career-high 43 points, a school Division I record, against NCAA Tournament participant Texas A&M-Corpus Christi in UNLV’s Duel in the Desert tournament (12-19-06)…made a career-high 16 field goals (in 21 attempts) in that game to earn MEAC Player of the Week honors…tied the single-game school record of seven 3-pointers made vs. TAMUCC and tied it again vs. North Carolina A&T (2-24-07)… scored at least 20 points in a game on nine occasions and more than 30 three times…scored 33 points, played a career-high 48 minutes, and registered career highs of 10 free throws made and 13 attempted in the double-overtime loss to N.C. A&T (2-24-06)…scored 35 points on 13-of-21 shooting vs. MEAC champion Florida A&M (2-3-07)…registered a season-high five assists to go with 15 points and six rebounds in the win over Hampton (11-28-06)…had the first two double-doubles of his career in consecutive games in January…had 11 points and 10 rebounds at FAMU (1-6-07) and 17 points and 10 boards vs. Bethune-Cookman (1-8-07)…eclipsed the 1,000 point mark with a two-handed dunk on a fast-break vs. Winston-Salem State (1-18-07)…had 20 points in that game…scored 22 points and drained 6-of-12 from behind the arc at N.C. A&T (1-27-07)…had 26 points at Coppin State (2-10-07)…scored 20 points or more in the final three games of the season…tallied 23 points vs. Howard (2-28-07) in the regular-season finale…had 24 points in the MEAC Tournament first round vs. Maryland Eastern Shore (3-7-07) and 20 in the MEAC quarterfinal loss to N.C. A&T (3-8-07).

2005-06 (Sophomore Year)
Established himself as one of the top players in the MEAC…a second-team All-MEAC selection, Murphy started all 31 games at shooting guard…led the Spartans and finished third in the MEAC in scoring, at 15.6 points per game…ranked eighth in the MEAC and led NSU in free throw percentage (82-of-110, .745)…was fifth in the conference in 3-pointers made (61, 1.9 per game) and 11th in 3-point percentage (.326)…also led the Spartans and ranked sixth in the conference in minutes played (32.9 per game)…averaged 3.5 rebounds per game (fourth on the team), and one steal per game (second on the team)…scored in double figures in 24 games, including 10 games with at least 20 points…scored a season-high 26 points on three occasions…had 26 points on 8-of-16 shooting (5-of-11 on 3-pointers) and hit the game-winning buzzer-beater from 3-point range against Howard (1-7-06)…also had 26 points against Morgan State (2-13-06) and vs. Bethune-Cookman (3-1-06)…grabbed a season-high nine rebounds in the win over Bethune-Cookman…knocked down a season-high six 3-pointers and scored 25 points at George Washington (11-26-05)…also hit five 3-pointers in a game three different times…had 24 points, eight rebounds and seasons highs of four assists and four steals in the first win over Hampton (12-3-05), helping him nail down MEAC Player of the Week honors…also poured in 24 points on 9-of-13 shooting at Fresno State (12-19-05)…scored exactly 20 points in a game twice, in a loss at Coppin State (1-14-06) and a win at Maryland Eastern Shore (2-6-06)…shot a season-best 70 percent (7-of-10) from the floor at UMES…had 23 points in the MEAC Tournament quarterfinal win over Coppin State (3-8-06)…was perfect from the free throw line in nine games…had eight rebounds in back-to-back games against Towson (11-30-05) and Hampton (12-3-05)…averaged 16.8 points and shot 43 percent from the floor (36 from 3-point range) in MEAC games.

2004-05 (Freshman Year)
Named to the MEAC All-Rookie Team…was also named the team’s Rookie of the Year…played in 26 games and started 23…was second on the team in scoring (10.8 ppg) and fourth in rebounds (3.6 rpg)…led the team and ranked eighth in the conference in 3-pointers made (49)…also led the team in 3-point percentage at 42.6, which would have led the conference if he made enough to qualify (missed by three made 3’s)…averaged 32.5 minutes and 2.3 assists per game…averaged 11.5 ppg in conference games…scored a season-high 25 points on 10-of-16 shooting (3-of-6 from 3-point range) against Delaware State (2-26-05)…scored in double figures 15 times, including the last eight of the season…led the team with 12 points and grabbed five rebounds in his first game as a Spartan, at Towson (11-19-04)…got his first career start against Savannah State (11-30-04), scoring 10 of his 13 points in the first half…knocked down 3-of-6 from 3-point range and added three assists and two steals in that game…finished with 19 points on 7-of-12 shooting, including 4-of-7 from behind the arc, to lead the come-from-behind win over North Carolina A&T (1-10-05)…was named the MEAC Co-Rookie of the Week for Jan. 24 after averaging 11.5 points, four rebounds and three assists in the Spartans' wins over Maryland Eastern Shore and Howard…dished out a season-high five assists, and added 16 points and three rebounds to help the team break a three-game loosing streak at Florida A&M (2-5-05)… had 16 points, four assists and three rebounds off the bench in the last home game of the season, against Howard (2-28-05)…played a season-high 43 minutes and was 8-of-16 from the floor and 4-of-7 from the 3-point territory for 21 points against Hampton (3-4-05)…also scored 21 points, shooting 7-of-10 from the field and 4-of-5 from behind the arc in the conference tournament loss to South Carolina State (3-10-05)…averaged 20.8 points over the last four games of the season.

High School
Was The Bergen Record and The Herald News North Jersey Player of the Year as a senior…named to the All-New Jersey second team by The Associated Press…averaged 26 points and 9.9 rebounds and made 52 3-pointers in leading Eastside to its first Passaic County title since 1993…led Passaic County and the Northern New Jersey Interscholastic League in scoring…scored 112 points in four county tournament games, including 31 in the title game…career high was 43 points, one of two 40-point games in his senior season…a four-year letterwinner, Murphy averaged 18 points and seven rebounds as a junior, and 14 points and five rebounds as a sophomore…also starred on the Eastside baseball team and was an honor roll student.
