Started 35 of the team’s 36 games on the season … A lock-down defender who averaged 3.5 points and 2.6 rebounds per contest … Also added 49 assists, an average of 1.4 per game, with 30 steals and three blocks … Named the NSU Male Scholar-Athlete of the Year for having the highest GPA of all male student-athletes … Named to the Virginia Sports Information Directors (VaSID) Academic All-State Team and the MEAC All-Academic Team … Shot 45-of-115 (39.1 percent) from the floor … Scored in double figures once on the season, posting 12 points on 6-of-9 shooting with three steals and two assists in a 72-60 win at UMES Feb. 6 … Had a season-high eight rebounds in wins against Randolph Nov. 16 and then again against Howard Jan. 9 … Scored nine points and had a career-high six assists with seven rebounds March 16 in an 86-84 upset of Missouri in the NCAA tournament … Also added nine points with three assists and two steals March 1 in a 72-65 victory at North Carolina A&T.
2010-11 (Junior Year)
Started 17 times in 31 games … one of NSU’s better defenders, McCauley also averaged 3.6 points and 2.2 rebounds per game … shot 42 percent from the floor and 37 from 3-point range … scored in double figures twice … had a season-high 13 points at Rutgers (11-23-10) … shot 4-of-5 from the floor, 3-of-3 from 3-point range and 2-of-2 from the free throw line in that game … had six points and a season-high nine rebounds at U.Va. (12-20-10) … contributed seven points and five rebounds in the win over Florida A&M (1-10-11) … scored eight points in the victory at Howard (1-17-11) … recorded eight points, three rebounds and three steals in the second matchup with Howard (2-14-11) … poured in 11 points in just 13 minutes in his next game at North Carolina Central (2-19-11).
At Ranger
Averaged nine points, six rebounds and three assists per game as a sophomore at Ranger College for coach Rodney McConnell … started 19 of the team’s 28 games … helped Ranger finish with an 18-10 record.
At Southern Miss
Played in 32 games, all off the bench, as a freshman at Southern Mississippi in 2008-09 … averaged 1.5 points and 2.4 rebounds … shot 45.7 percent from the floor and averaged 14.6 minutes per game.
