Norfolk State University Athletics

    2008 (Junior): Started all 12 games at one of NSU’s two inside linebacker spots…was second on the team and 10th in the MEAC with 81 total tackles…led the Spartans with 10 tackles for loss…also had 2.5 sacks, one pass deflection and three quarterback hurries…reached double figures in tackles three times…had 12 tackles and a sack at Bethune-Cookman…recorded 10 tackles and a season-high 3.5 tackles for loss at Hampton…also recorded one sack against the Pirates…had a season-best 13 tackles, seven solo, in the win over Morgan State…registered seven stops, including 2.5 for loss, against Virginia State. 
    At Akron: Spent three seasons with the Division I FBS Zips…redshirted 2005 after suffering a knee injury…was a reserve linebacker and played on special teams in 2006 and 2007. 
    High School: A four-year letterwinner at Norland…tallied 78 tackles and four sacks en route to all-district honors as a senior ...made 82 stops and seven sacks as a junior…named second-team All-Broward County as a junior...also earned second-team all-county honors as a sophomore. 
    Personal: Michael Alphonse was born on September 22, 1985…goes by Mike…son of Mildrene Jeudy…majoring in interdisciplinary studies.
